2019 CALL FOR MAKERS – NOW OPEN!

Posted on March 13, 2019 Under news

Heads-up Maker Friends >>> Maker Festival’s 2019 Call for Makers is now open!

We need your help filling the Toronto Reference Library with the wonder & contagious spirit of making!

Our theory has always been that a Maker is someone – anyone – who uses their mind, hands and heart to make awesome things.

At Maker Festival, you’ll discover that Makers aren’t just making stuff, they’re driven by something more. Perhaps a desire to learn a new skill, or to realize a creative vision, or simply to have a great time. People make for all kinds of reasons: an openness to possibilities, an interest in actively participating in shaping our world, and perhaps, even a yearning for a more wonder-filled tomorrow.

We also want to celebrate and welcome those who may hesitate to call themselves Makers, because their creations don’t have flashy lights or robotic arms.

Perhaps the awesome things you make are crochet sculptures, furniture from found objects or you experiment with gastronomic baked goods. Show us your stuff! Tell us about what you’re making now. Join us in celebrating creative thinkers, makers & innovators by sharing your awesomeness with our communities!

Returning this year is our “Jump Start Alley” dedicated to showcasing small companies and startups that are making things. We’ve always had Startups at Maker Festival, but we want to do more to help them succeed. Send us your ideas!

The 2019 Call for Makers closes April 30th. Apply today!

SAVE THE DATE: JULY 6-7, 2019 MAKER FESTIVAL RETURNS!
