Cost: Free!

Day 1: EMPATHIZE [July 8]

Kick-off the program with a food crawl around Kensington Market (how’s that for team-building?) and a visit to our site, St. Andrew’s Playground!

Day 2: DEFINE + IDEATE [July 15]

Movie time! Watch Design + Thinking to see how designers identify users and their needs, then do the same with your team! Challenge yourself to brainstorm as many ideas as possible – you will be surprised how many ideas you can come up with!

Day 3: PROTOTYPE [July 22]

Quit talking, start doing! Your team will build prototypes to better visualize your ideas and get feedback from your peers.

Day 4: PROTOTYPE [July 29]

Test and improve! Polish your pitch and present your idea to a panel of professional architects and planners.

Day 5: BUILD [August 12]

How do you build a real installation at the park? Learn how to bring your idea to life in a matter of a few hours.

Day 6: INSTALL [August 19]

It’s game day! Assemble your project at St. Andrew’s Playground and share your idea with the public. We will wrap up the program with a picnic celebration and talk about how you can take what you’ve learned back to your school community.
