Charles Baetsen: Henry Ford’s First Engine Replica

On Christmas Eve, 1893, a young Henry Ford clamped a rather unusual contraption to his kitchen sink. Made of off-the-shelf plumbing parts, he and his wife, sparked his first engine to life. A replica will be demonstrated along with some other related oddities, such as Heron’s Steam Ball.

Live demonstration of the engine running.
