Eric Andersson – CNC Mill

A custom-designed CNC mill that can cut plastics, wood, brass, and aluminum. The design is unique because it is made of aluminum tooling plate which is significantly stronger than the aluminum extrusions used in typical DIY CNC routers, and it was built using only a cordless drill. This is the first DIY milling machine without aluminum extrusions that does not require machining to be built.

Hands-on activity at the Festival:
Visitors can watch the mill as it cuts a part, or manually control each axis to understand how the machine works. Pending material availability, I may be able to set the mill up to allow visitors to machine their own trinket.
