Robot Playtime – Pixel

Pixel is an app that teaches the basics of programming, logic and robot building in a fun and interactive way. The app starts with your robot, Pixel, gazing blankly into the world, devoid of intelligence and emotion. It’s up to the user to “program” a personality and some intelligence for Pixel using our simple block programming language. A program is made by connecting blocks to one or more “events” that Pixel might experience (e.g. face touched, falling over, hearing a loud noise). Our mission is to lower the barrier of entry to robotics and computer science, and raise the bar of what’s achievable by children and beginners.

At the Festival, users will be able to use Pixel and write a programs with block programming for custom behaviors to events that Pixel may encounter (e.g. face touched, falling over, hearing a loud noise).
