Toronto Public Library: TWANG! Arduino Arcade

Inspired by Robin Baumgarten’s Line Wobbler, TWANG is a one dimensional “dungeon crawler” video game powered by an Arduino Mega that uses a coloured LED light strip as the “screen” and a spring door stop as the controller. The player controls a single LED dot or particle that must move from one end of the strip to the other, avoiding obstacles such as lava, water, and enemy particles. The enemy particles may be destroyed with a flick of the the joystick or “twang attack”. Players have three lives to reach the end of each level and defeat the boss enemy. We will set up 8 to 10 of these games in the Digital Innovation Hub.

TWANG is a 1D Arduino powered video game that uses a coloured LED light strip as the “screen” and a spring door stop as the controller. Move your particle across the light strip, fighting enemy particles and avoiding lava and water hazards along the way.
