Black Creek Pioneer Village – Hands on History

At Black Creek Pioneer Village, visitors step back into the past and engage with historic trades and crafts. We would like to bring some of our hands-on activities to the Makers Festival where visitors can get a taste of the Black Creek Pioneer Village experience.

One of our more popular, and portable, historic crafts is spinning. We will bring a spinning wheel, several drop spindles, wool carders and possibly other wool crafts. We will demonstrate spinning using the spinning wheel while visitors can participate in carding wool and learning to spin with a drop spindle.
