Action Potential Lab: Sew Your Own Plush Toy Cell
It’s been months in the making and we are thrilled to announce that we will have Ottawa-based textile artist and Art & Science fiend Karina Bergmans teaching an exclusive one-day workshop at our lab. Join Karina in making a cell creature sculpture pillow. You will learn hand sewing techniques (no previous experience necessary) and cell anatomy in the creation of a cute (or creepy!) organism. As a part of this workshop, you and your kid researcher will have access to heaps of mixed media materials from fabrics, stuffing, pompoms and plastics to needles and thread. Come by the lab for an afternoon lesson in microbiology and craft! For children 6 yrs +
Participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the workshop.
